What is it? – Mountain biking is the sport of riding bicycles off-road, often over rough terrain, using specially designed mountain bikes.
What’s the cost?
For trails in the West Rand Area (Roodepoort/Randburg/Bryanston)
– R300pp for group sessions (2-4riders) – Includes entrance fees and equipment hire. *Excluding bike hire if needed.
– R500pp for private lessons – 1 on 1 training. Includes entrance fees and equipment hire. *Excluding bike hire if needed.
Will I be able to do it? – No prior experience needed in mountain biking, but you should be able to “ride a bike”.
What will I learn? – Correct equipment fitment and use. Body position and braking technique. How to read the trail and maneuver over and around obstacles. And you’ll also be getting a great whole body workout!
How long is it? – Total duration for the course is 3 hours, but actual “riding time” will be around 1,5 hours.
How many people can join in? – Individual lessons are 1 on 1. Group sessions are between 2-4 riders maximum.
What do I need to bring? – Comfortable clothes that don’t restrict movement. Takkies or sport shoes. You’re welcome to bring your own bike and any equipment you might have.
Where is it? – Cycle Lab Bike Park, in Bryanston Johannesburg. I am also completely mobile and can come to your favourite trail anywhere in Gauteng!
What days and times can I book? – Available during week days, weekends or holidays. Morning, midday, or afternoon sessions. Contact Ryan to book the time and day that suits you.
What if I want somewhere more challenging? – We offer skills courses at wilder places like Grootfontein Bike Park, Wolwespruit Bike Park, Cradle Moon, Thaba Trails, Van Gaalens, Big Red Barn, Reitvlei and Emmaretia’s Spruit.
